Welcome to the webpage of Metaverse Media Lab at University of Tsukuba and the University of Electro-Communications. We are in Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Informatics, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences at University of Tsukuba and Graduate School of Informatics and Engineering at the University of Electro-Communications. We are a research group led by Takefumi Hiraki, conducting a variety of areas related to Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Metaverse, Haptic Interfaces, and Human-Computer Interaction.

Toward Metaverse Media with Embodiment, Spatiality, and Experience

We explore the metaverse environment that combines the three elements of platform (spatiality), interface (physicality), and content (experience), and research and develop the media technology that supports this metaverse environment from both hardware and software perspectives. Through these efforts, we aim to create metaverse technologies that support people and enrich our daily lives, and realize a future where people are free from physical, temporal, and spatial constraints.
